Funny facts about golf balls
The first interview ever… with a golf ball
As golfers we just hit the ball and hope it will fly straight and long. But have you ever thought about the dimples of a golf ball? Do you know the longest golf ball flight? There are loads of unanswered questions about our little friends.
Luckily we can ask someone who knows best about these things. BoB. I asked him a few questions about him and his golf ball friends and I got some really interesting answers. Have fun reading!
Lars: What has been your longest flight BoB?
But Frank, a good old friend of mine, told me he got hit by Mike Austin on Sept, 25th 1974 during an U.S National Senior Open Championschip and flew over 515 yards (470 meter)! He had a nap in between and later on he realized that it was the longest drive in golf history! Not bad for a 64 year old golfer 🙂 .
Lars: So that was the longest golf ball flight ever?
Lars: Does it hurt to get hit by a driver?
Lars: How come you and your friends hide in the bush so often?
Lars: Is there a reason why you prefer the bunker instead of the green?
Lars: And why can’t you swim?
Lars: Can you tell our readers and me the secret about the backspin?
Lars: And why do you have so funny dimpels?
Lars: Okay BoB, last question: How does your school system work?
The golf balls who study at the GBC have to specialize themselves. There are several different options. Basically you can decide to specialize as a soft, medium or hard ball. You see, it is a long way to a professional golf ball and all that just to make you golfers happy! 🙂
Okay, that was our short interview. We hope you liked it and that you learned something new about golf balls. Please feel free to leave a comment if you have more questions for BoB. He is always very happy to answer your questions.
You can also share this post and tell your friends all the new facts you now about golf balls. We are sure they will be super jealous about your new golf knowledge 😛
Thank you so much for reading and keep on playing!
