TULUM: GRAND CENOTE

Two Australian girls who we met in our hostel recommended a special spot for snorkelling: a ‘cenote’. We have never heard this word before but were curious about what it is.

We bought our own snorkelling gear, rented a bike and rode on a long highway until we finally reached the ‘Grand cenote’. This one looks like a cave full of water which is very cold and refreshing. The water is so clear that you can look very far. You have a lot fish around you, swimming in front of your mask. It’s incredible.! We also saw small turtles swimming around.

For Lars it was the first snorkelling experience and he loved it very much. There coudn’t have been a better start. And BoB? Our cool golf ball? He was a little bit shy because of the wate. As you know golf balls usually don’t like water that much but finally BoB jumped in the cenote as well.
