CHICHEN ITZA: DEFINITELY A MUST

Amaaaaaazzinnggg!!!

After one day of relaxation and washing clothes we took the bus from Tulum to Chichen Itza. It is one of the most famous Mayan ruins in the world and located in the jungle of the Yucatan peninsula.

Don’t be irritated when you enter the sight. You have to buy two tickets for each person 🙂 One is for the government and the other for the organisation that looks after the ruins. But it’s definitively worth it!

From the entrance you walk a short way under trees and suddenly it is there. . . . an impressing huge ruin. It is 30 metres high, 55 metres long. and was bulit aroud 900 AD.

Lars and his funny golf ball friend BoB enjoyed the stunning view of the ruin and felt very small in front of it.

You can spend hours there cause there are also so many other things to .see. The whole area is so huge that we felt lost in between.  We spent over four hours walking around and taking maaaany pictures.

The only anoying thing about these interesting ruins are the many souvenier stands around. Anyway it was a great day and we had a big smile in our faces when we took the bus back to Tulum. If you want to learn more about this amazing place, click here.
