TULUM RUINS: EXPLORING MAYAN HISTORY

Our trip brought our funny golf ball BoB and us further south to the small city of Tulum. We didn’t expect much from this place as we thought it’s just a city on our way to Belize. But it surprised us totally! You can do so many things here!

Today we wanted to look into the past and exlpore the history of the Mayans. We were very excited about the ruins and got up early to be there when it’s still quiet. We were impressed by the ruins and we learned that there is something special about it… They are directly located at the sea. This fact gives the whole area a very nice atmosphere.

The beaches next to the ruins are beautiful and you can go for a swim there. One of them is closed, because it is a protected area with hundreds of turtle eggs lying in the sand. At night the baby turtles will leave the eggs and try to find their way to the sea. This must be so cute to see. We almost forgot our little friend BoB between the eggs when we left the beach. It is indeed very dificult to find our funny golf ball in the middle of all the eggs 🙂
