Well, before you start reading the story about how we met BoB for the first time, you should know that BoB is more than just an ordinary golf ball. He has a hard shell but a really soft core. For a golf ball he is quite good looking and if you haven’t checked out his best pictures yet, you should do so first. Just click in the image!
Now that you have a better image of BoB, we tell you how we met your new travel buddy

We first met BoB on the golf course – or better on the driving range. BoB’s last job brought him to Hamburg in Germany where he worked in the very cool Golflounge.
Lars was a member of the Golflounge and hit some balls on the driving range as usual. . . and suddenly there he was. BoB looked so sad and Lars had to ask him “What’s up little boy?”
BoB said that he is so sick of his normal job on the golf courses and driving ranges around the world. Being surrounded only by the rich and famous, he always wanted to explore our lovely planet besides the “perfect” golf world. Seeing other places, getting to know people and cultures, listen to new music, trying unknown food, just traveling. That is what he was dreaming about all day long. But for a little curious golf ball that was a huge dream. How should he ever travel around the world? He hardly had any money and he was too small for long travels.
Lucky Lars met BoB on that day. He and Liane wanted to quit their jobs anyway and start traveling. “Why not with a golf ball?” Liane asked. “He is small, light, doesn’t eat too much (that’s what we thought) and he looks like a funny guy.” Both couldn’t resist BoB‘s sad looking eyes and the decision was made.
So Liane and Lars told BoB that he can travel with them and he started to cry because he couldn’t believe it. BoB packed his backpack, said goodbye to his collegues and friends on the golf course, and started his big adventure around the world!
You think traveling is easy for a golf ball? No it’s not! Imagine BoB’s waist is only 43mm wide. Sometimes a bit more when he eats too much :).
So BoB needs around 23,256 turns for 1 km! That’s a lot for a little golf ball.

World

Do you sometimes wish you had arms?
No not really, Liane and Lars write the blog for me so that’s okay.
What’s your favorite sweets?
I love chocolate cakes and ice-cream… but just if the scoop is as big as me
Is there anything you don’t like?
The driver! (for non golfers, this is the biggest golf club)
What’s your biggest dream?
I want to drive the world-famous “Route 66″… on rollerblades! *lol*
Okay, now you know why your cute little friend is on his trip around the world. He already enjoyed soooo many adventures.
If you want to take part in of all of BoB‘s adventures, you should sign up for our newsletter and follow BoB on FACEBOOK. This is the best way not to miss anything!
Lars

Hi I’m Lars. Have you ever written about yourself? Man, I have no idea… let’s say I’m the typical boring average guy who has been very lucky in his life. I’m German, so I never had to fear war, hunger or to live under the bridge. I have a lovely girlfriend (only God knows why I deserve her) and I’m neither a good journalist or writer nor a great photographer or filmmaker… so I’m perfect for a travel blog *lol*!
The last 10 years I worked in the luxury hotel sector, responsible for Sales and Marketing (I loved it) and I had to travel a lot through Europe which was amazing. I lived in 10 different cities and 3 countries. I visited 13 countries before I met BoB and of course I want to visit MORE
Oh yes, and I love golf and I don’t like people who say they hate golf but have never played it (except for miniature golf…tzzz). Golf in fact is like traveling because you get easily addicted to it. You should try it! Now have fun reading our blog and a big THANK YOU for coming by!

Lars

What was your favorite country?
Hard to say but Guatemala surprised me the most, for sure. If I could choose 3 right now, I would take Germany (still love my country) Mexico and Ecuador.
What’s your favorite food?
After years of traveling I have to say… “Currywurst Schranke”! (A sausage with a sauce of ketchup and curry, together with french fries, ketchup and mayonese). It tastes better than it sounds. *lol*
What’s your favorite drink?
Diesel (Beer mixed with Coke) but I also like a regular beer. You see, I might not have the best taste, but that’s why I have a travel blog and not a food blog :).
Can I join you on your trip?
This question you should ask Liane
How tall are you?
1,89m and therefore 1cm smaller than my big brother… damn it.
And why are you so skinny?
What? Well, yes I lost a lot of weight while traveling… but I work on that!
Do you live from blogging?
No, but if you want to help me, you can do it HERE.
Why do you post so infrequently?
Because I am lazy as hell! 😛
Do you like flying?
I hate it, but that belongs to traveling, so I have to deal with it. I will post HOW in the future.
I have more questions, what now?
Just send me an e-mail or leave a comment and I will be more than happy to answer all your questions! [email protected]
Liane

And who is the third part in this trio? Me… Liane Nice to meet you!
I think it is not difficult to start loving travelling but I guess it is something different to have a passion for it. The roots of my passion can probably be traced back to my childhood. Grown up in a very touristy place at the coast of the Baltic Sea, I have always been surrounded by travelers. After school I started to study “Leisure and Tourism Management”. What a surprise! 😉 During that time I experienced my first longer stays away from home, in New Zealand and on Tenerife, Spain. I enjoyed the time being abroad so much! It was also the time when I discovered the photography. To keep memories alive with pictures is just great. (However I’m still far away from a professional!)
Back at home I worked in marketing in the luxury hotel sector (yes, Lars and I did similar jobs and that’s how we met :)).
After my first two longer trips my wanderlust became bigger and I did some shorter trips to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Jakarta, Italy and Spain. In 2011/12 I spend 6 months in Australia, doing “work and travel” with a great friend.
But that was still NOT enough. I didn’t want to put away my backback. There are still too many places to see in this beautiful world. And then it happend… Just one year after I came back from Australia Lars and I left home and started our big adventure with our sweet golf ball BoB.

What’s your favorite country?
It’s really hard to tell… I loved the Caribbean Coast of Mexico with the incredible crystal clear water and I was deeply impressed by Bolivia’s landscape. But the highlight was the Galapagos Islands with its amazing flora and fauna.
What do you love about traveling?
I think traveling can be very eye opening and that’s what I love the most about it. You learn to appreciate the little things of your everyday life (always warm water, comfortable bed, most important: security) and realize that we very often waste so much time with unimportant stuff.
Do you miss home?
Of course, I love my family and friends back at home and not to see them for months is not easy. But with Whatsapp and Skype I never feel too far away. And one part of my home is always with me… BoB and Lars :).
Why are you not the perfect travel blogger?
I write too long texts! Somehow I’m not able to put things in a short sentence and therefore it takes pretty long until a blog post gets published. So, I will work on that!
You like the photography. What has been your favorite shot?
Well, that’s not easy to say… I love landscape photography and one shot that still fascinates me was taken in the Andean Plateau in Bolivia: La Laguna Colorada – the Red Lagoon. This lagoon looked like a natural painting… red, white, black, blue, yellow, and brown.
I have more questions, what now?
Send me an e-mail or leave a comment! I will be more than happy to answer all your questions! [email protected]
AND WHO ARE YOU?
Now you know everything about us, but what about you? Are you also traveling around the world or do you have the dream to do so? Maybe you also have a travel blog or you are a golfer who will hit the balls not so hard any more 😉 ?
Feel free to leave a comment below and to tell us YOUR story!
Thanks so much for coming by and checking out our blog!
Yours,
BoB, Liane and Lars
PS: Please share, if you like BoB. It is SUPER EASY! :)

Gee Guys, I have spent more time laughing and admiring young Bob this morning than maybe I ought… but then why not. It’s Sunday, I’m allowed to.
How lucky is Bob to have great friends and travel companions to explore with!
We are heading off soon for 12 months or so… gallivanting about with two daughters, 9 and 12 years of age, so our travels will be about them this time and trying to make it the best possible experience from a kids point of view, rather like the way you fulfil Bob and keep him up to speed on great golf courses around the world!
Hooroo, shall keep following you all!
