Soooo many projects!

Hi everyone and welcome to my personal world of CHAOS! Uhh, I am sure, if you are a blogger, you know the feelings I am having right now. Too many projects are lying on my table and they all want to be finished as soon as possible. To make a long story short, we are still in Valparaiso and as you might read in my last report, we wanted to write more posts and I have to say at least Liane is really working on that.

However, when we transferred our page from jimdo to wordpress we just concentrated on the content. Now we have to implement all the cool features a wordpress page has to offer. We almost relaunched every single page with a cool header, a parallax effect and changed from boxed to full width pages . You won’t see all the effects on mobile devices but we think it looks much more modern on Laptops and PC’s. We also deleted a lot of text as we had the feeling it was too much on many pages. We will see if it was the right decision.
But we won’t change every page and we keep the posts layout as it is, with a “BoB” header and the sidebar on the right.

Para.. WHAT?!

You have never heard of Parallax? This is how my friend WIKI explains the Parallax effect: “Parallax scrolling is a special scrolling technique in computer graphics, wherein background images move by the camera slower than foreground images, creating an illusion of depth in a 2D site and adding to the immersion.”
Easy right Okay, next topic!

One BIG thing I am working on right now is our online shop. We hope it will look super awesome and we have many plans with our shop for the future. It will be ready in January (hopefully) and I will answer all the questions WHY we build a shop etc. in the near future. Stay tuned!

We also installed a new, much cooler, map on our Destinations page and featured some posts for Central and South America. We try to guide our readers a bit through our page and want to make sure they read our most popular posts first.

Last month achievements and statistics

Yap, we are still at the beginning and it is super hard to get more followers and clicks, especially when you post little. BUT we did some marketing and hopefully our numbers will change soon due to some publications in magazines etc. I don’t want to talk too much about it, because we are still waiting for a final GO but I will keep you updated! Ah yes, one more thing. Our alexa ranking dropped tremendously – and I don’t have  a clue why. I know that nobody gives a sh… about alexa because it has it’s issues but I will leave it in my list.

Goals for DECEMBER

 

We have to move on. We stayed for two months in Valparaiso and we want to move on to Argentina now. We will try to settle down in Buenos Aires for a few weeks to work a bit, but of course we won’t have the time to be active in blogging like we are now. Anyway, we still want to publish a post every week minimum and we MUST be more active on our social media channels. Liane is quite active on instagram and we hope to reach our 1000 followers next month. Fingers crossed.
