GOLF BALL BOB’S FIRST HORSEBACK RIDING ADVENTURE IN ARGENTINA
A little golf ball on a giant horse – horseback riding in Mendoza
Little golf ball BoB feels most comfortable on grass, of course, he is a golf ball. However BoB is a very curious little guy and when he heard about our plans to travel to Argentina he had three wishes… trying a juicy steak, dancing passionate tango and riding a horse like a real gaucho.
Leaving the long country of Chile behind us, we crossed the border and arrived in our first Argentinean destination: Mendoza. Mendoza is world-famous for its vineyards but it’s also a great place for some horseback riding adventures along the foothills of the Andean mountains. As it gets very hot and sunny in December horseback riding in Mendoza at sunset is the best to escape the heat.

On the way to the horse farm little golf ball BoB got very nervous. Never before he had sat in a horse saddle and imagine for a little, only a few centimeters big golf ball, a horse is like a giant! But look at his awesome leather hat! With that he was perfectly prepared for the great adventure!
When our tour guides tried to find the best horse for everybody it was clear that BoB will go on a horse together with Lars. Otherwise it would have been too dangerous for BoB on a slippery leather saddle.
BoB on his horse Kung Fu Panda
Through small bush and along the Andean mountains we spent some great 2 hours on our horses. The trail just had one steeper incline and descent and everybody could enjoy the landscape and the moment with the horses. The sun slowly started to set behind the mountains and the temperature got milder.

Every now and then the horses changed from walking to trotting which, after a short time, BoB started to really enjoy! The rocking became so much stronger that BoB even thought he would get some new dimpels! But Lars was so concentrated not to lose control of BoB and as they are a good team BoB could relax and almost felt like a real gaucho. He started dreaming about the rough nature, him with his awesome leather hat, rounding up the cattle like the coolest guy ever - BoB, the first gaucho golf ball… that would be so awesome! ?
Suddenly Kung Fu Panda reduced the pace and arrived back at the farmhouse. BoB and Lars descended from their horse and with some lovely strokes they both sad goodbye to gorgeous Kung Fu Panda.
Saying goodbye to our lovely horses
At this point the trip was not over yet. Our host fired the oven and after sunset we were served a delicious dinner… great beef, vegetables and salads and wine. Sitting next to burning oven and surrounded by the darkness of the night it was a very relaxed atmosphere and the perfect finish of the day.

Our tour and prices for horseback riding in Mendoza
Other travelers recommended this tour to us and also we recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing horseback riding tour. For this tour no experience in horseback riding is necessary. We booked our tour with our hostel International Mendoza Youth Hostel. But it seems that every hostel in Mendoza works with the same tour operator/farm.
Price: 500 pesos per person including transportation to and from the farm, horseback riding tour, BBQ, wine.
BoB loved the time on the farm and the ride on the horse was definitely a highlight for him. I’m sure this wasn’t the last time on a horse saddle.
When you head to Mendoza, go on a horseback riding tour and enjoy the views of the Andean mountains!
